PREP & SETUP

Prep the area by covering any openings that won’t be sealed. This includes taping or covering any designed openings or finished horizontal surfaces within the space. Emitters are then set up throughout the area to be air sealed.

The AeroBarrier Connect system is then set up. It includes a blower door, nozzle stations and hoses, a fan with lay-flat tubing, and the master control unit.

PRESSURIZE & APPLY

Using a blower door, the space is pressurized. After that, a computer controls the entire process including the temperature, pressure, humidity, and distribution of sealant within the space.

SEAL & MONITOR

With the AeroBarrier Connect system, you see results in real-time. You have complete control over your desired level of airtightness and can achieve any level required. At the end of the process, a final blower door test is run to verify the air sealing results. AeroBarrier then provides a Certificate of Completion that shows pre and post leakage.

CLEAN UP

After the air sealing is complete, work can resume in the space within 30 minutes. At that time, clean up of all equipment and removal of all tape and coverings can occur.

Our blower door meets ASHRAE 62.2 (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) standards and doubles as both the air leakage measuring tool and the method of pressurizing the space required for the air sealing to occur.

Our system puts the home under positive pressure, and as the structure becomes more airtight, the back pressure will be relayed to the software to provide real-time results in both ACH50 and CFM to accommodate different air requirements. The AeroBarrier Connect air sealing system uses verified software that accounts for the build’s many variables, such as square footage, number of windows, doors, and bathrooms.

You can be confident knowing our system’s results will align with the results from a certified blower door professional.

RESULTS YOU CAN SEE

Upon completion, the AeroBarrier Connect air sealing system automatically provides an air sealing certificate. This certificate includes data to assist with final inspections, including:

  • Initial air leakage
  • A graph showing air leakage reduction over time;
  • Total amount of time for the air sealing process;
  • Final air leakage after the sealing is complete with a percent of change comparing before and after airtightness.

Seal certificates identify before and after air leakage, give a percentage reduction in air leakage, and an illustration of how the air leakage changed over the course of time.
